Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary returns.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough reviews of tax forms, schedules, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze financial data to accurately determine taxable income and deductions.

Tax Planning and Strategy:

• Collaborate with clients to develop tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits.
• Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide guidance to clients and team members.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to clients.
• Assist with tax projections and estimates to help clients plan their tax obligations.

Client Management:

• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted tax advisor.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information for tax return preparation.
• Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional client service.
• Collaborate with clients to address tax-related issues and provide guidance on tax matters.

Team Leadership and Supervision (Manager)

• Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support.
• Review and evaluate the work of tax staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to professional standards.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the tax department.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance the technical and professional skills of team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification or actively pursuing certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with tax software and technology tools, such as tax preparation software and research databases.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under deadlines.
