Heavy Equipment Operator

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Must be able to operate forklifts up to 25 ton capacity
• Operate heavy duty trucks moving up to 90 foot roll trailers
• Assist with loading self-propelled cargo such as but not limited to tractors, haul trucks, bulldozers, front end loaders
• Work with spotters to ensure cargo is safely loaded/taken in
• Updates terminal system through handheld devices with cargo locations and work orders
• Updates terminal system with different equipment used for different types of cargo
• May have the opportunity to train new employees, and recommend changes and develop processes.
• Ensures the department adheres to safety and quality standards.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Read and understand department SOPs.
• Complete understanding of, or ability to quickly learn processes
• Must be capable of carrying our specific work procedures and directions of management and leads
• Ability to troubleshoot operational issues, read and understand written instructions
• Must be driven to meet/exceed the required production standards
• Must understand basic math
• Be motivated, self-directed and detail oriented
• Must be able to lift, carry and hold items up to 50lbs
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Have a valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Good communication skills, able to work well with others

• High School graduate or equivalent

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional shop/yard environment. Frequent exposure to the elements (such as dust, dirt, rain,) and chemicals (such as fumes and fluids) occur during operation of construction and agricultural equipment, cranes, forklifts, etc.
