Wallowa County Grain Growers is offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time Agronomy Manager for our Enterprise, Oregon plant. The Agronomy Location manager will manage the division efficiently to provide our customers with prompt, courteous, and effective agronomy sales, and service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve profitability.

This position will supervise the Agronomy department employees including applicator personnel, office personnel, truck drivers, and sales team. The Agronomy location manager will develop, establish, and execute comprehensive marketing plans, and programs, and develop, and manage operating, and capital budgets.

Essential Functions:

1. Five (5) years of Agronomy and Agricultural experience

2. Two (2) years of Supervisory experience

3. Manage operations according to Wallowa County Grain Growers’ objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous, and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit.

4. Sales and Marketing-Develops and executes marketing plans to drive short- and long-term goals for the Wallowa County Grain Growers Agronomy department.

5. Utilizes strategies and tactics to optimize customer crop production

6. Develops excellent working relationships with crop producers

7. Manage location sales team on programs, pricing, and overall strategy

8. Develop, and manage operating, and capital budgets

9. Develop, establish, and execute comprehensive marketing plans, and programs, both short, and long range, to support sales, and revenue objectives of Wallowa County Grain Growers

10. Oversee, and ensure inventory is in place, and accurately accounted for.

11. Maintain, and promote a strong safety culture, and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify, and communicate workplace safety hazards, and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions, or conditions.

12. Analyze product profitability and efficient utilization of company owned equipment

13. Knowledge of DOT regulations.

14. Excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
