How do our Employee Relations Specialists Drive Impact?
As an Employee Relations Specialist, your objective is to ensure Walser provides fair, equitable and consistent treatment to all employees, creating an engaged and safe work environment. The ER Specialists drivers Walser's Culture, creating an innovative, high-performing, inclusive and supportive culture. You will advise leaders on matters of performance, conflict, conduct, discipline, engagement and recognition.
Collaborate with team to ensure we provide high level support to all Walser Employees
Partners with other HR (L&D, Recruiting, Total Rewards, DE&I), Safety & Risk and Legal teams to provide quality service to business leaders across the organization
Build strong partnerships with business leaders to support the needs and demands of the business as it relates to people
Support a culture of servant leadership from all leaders across the organization
Identify high performers and create learning opportunities and plans to support growth and development
Advise and coach leaders on people related matters
Coach and mentor employees; support employees with career counseling, advise on growth and development opportunities
Conduct thorough investigations on employee related matters, issues and concerns
Partner with leaders on matters of performance and discipline; performance improvement plans and progressive discipline
Direct onsite support of leaders at dealership and affiliate business locations
Review internal processes and make recommendations for improvements and drive solutions that support objectives and goals
Support annual succession planning platform - optimize succession plan for internal moves and promotions
Provide guidance and support to Walser Employee Resource Groups
Provide guidance and support to Company Wide and location specific events i.e. Family Day, Bring Your Child to Work Day, etc.
Policy interpretation - understand and advise on all company policies, procedures and protocols
Support with leave management; FMLA, personal leave, COVID
Management of unemployment process; responding to claims, attend hearings
Conduct New Hire Orientation
Embrace and exhibit Walser CORE values
All other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned
We're Looking For:
    • Two to Three years HR experience with a bachelor's degree in HR management, organizational development or related field; or equivalent education, training and experience
    • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment law
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering on commitment
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to adapt HR knowledge to support changing business needs
    • Skill in investigating, evaluating and mitigating risk associated with adverse employee related situations
    • Strong problem resolution capabilities, ability to think outside the box to resolve complex employee related matters
    • Ability to establish credibility with leaders with strong influencing and effective coaching skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a clear message
    • Proficient computer skills with the ability to run and manipulate reports and analyze data
