Walworth County is Hiring an Occupational Therapist (Lakeland School) Near Elkhorn, WI

This position is responsible for working to improve, develop, restore, and/or maintain a student's sensory/motor functions related to the educational setting.
SCHEDULE
Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 7:30 am- 3:30 pm
Hours Per Shift: 8
Shifts Per Pay Period: 10
Position FTE: 1.00
Applications are being accepted from current County employees as well as members of the public. 
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Evaluate students to determine present level of functioning and need for Occupational Therapy services.
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and need for on-going services.
Participate in long and short-term goal planning for a student's IEP.
Design and implement therapeutic programs to assist students in achieving educational objectives.
Recommend therapy procedures designed to achieve goals of the therapy program.
Make, adapt and/or recommend equipment to foster independence at school, in the community and at home.
Schedule students and document student progress.
Co-teach with appropriate staff for the purpose of practicing generalization in skill development. Collaborate with district and community partners.
Provide consultative services to classroom teachers and other educational staff relative to the individual student's functioning level in the classroom.
Provide consultative services to parents regarding the child's handicap and its effect on level of functioning at home, school and in the community.
Complete necessary Medicaid billing.
Provide in-service training for staff as needed.
Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

Education and/or Experience
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy with zero to six months of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the requirements to be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Wisconsin.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Occupational Therapist licensure through WI Department of Public Safety and Professional Services required.
Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction License O051 – Occupational Therapist.
The above licensure must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.

Provides specialized information and/or recommendations to others regarding an area of expertise.
Decision Making
This position has authority to make decisions that are within general procedures and protocols; supervision is available as required or requested. These decisions directly impact performance in the job and/or work unit within the department and information is provided to others for their decision-making.

In relation to established procedures, protocols and policies of the County, challenges in this position tend to be diverse, but are typically covered by precedent or established practice.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to environmental hazards, including chemical hazards (e.g. waste anesthetics, cleaning compounds, facility chemicals), physical hazards (e.g. kicking, biting, scratching student) and airborne and bloodborne pathogen exposure. Will be exposed to indoor and outdoor climate and weather conditions. . The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Ability to constantly use bilateral upper extremities, above/below waist and above/below shoulder height.
Ability to constantly walk and stand

Ability to constantly lift and move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to frequently lift and move up to 75 pounds with aid of provided equipment, or a second person assist.
Ability to frequently lift, push or pull 50 pounds unassisted with bending and twisting of trunk.
Ability to communicate to students using verbal and/or non-verbal communications.
Ability to identify student care needs through auditory and/or visual clues.
"Constant" means at least 2/3's of the shift.
"Frequent" means at least 1/3 of the shift.
