Nursing Supervisor (RN)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As a Nursing Supervisor (RN), you will assist a team of healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of nursing activities.

JOB DUTIES:

• Directs nursing personnel providing patient care; ensures quality care is provided; resolves patient and customer problems.
• Projects and records staffing levels for each area; adjusts staffing schedules as necessary.
• Enforces and maintains professional nursing standards, policies and procedures and assures compliance with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and all applicable regulatory agencies.
• Identifies, recommends and initiates planning strategies for improvement of nursing and patient care.
• Assists in establishing policies and procedures.
• Participates in interdisciplinary meetings/committees to promote and ensure continuity of patient care.
• Evaluates the performance and competency of employees by monitoring individual work performance
• Assists with monthly staff conferences.
• Assists with special projects and studies as directed.
• Performs nursing care when necessary.
• Obtains equipment and supplies when needed
• Responds to all internal and external emergency or disaster situations.
• Attends monthly Nurse Leadership meetings.
• Performs other duties as directed.
