The General Manager of Engineering and Manufacturing is responsible for the strategy and implementation of processes that supports sales, engineering, and production of quality products delivered to our customers.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Communicates, complies, and promotes WCAT EHS policies.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction through the quality delivery of WCAT products and continuous development of all employees within his/her area of responsibility to achieve the company's desire for operational excellence.
  • Recruits, hires, terminates, evaluates, and transfers personnel.
  • Communicates with Account Managers regarding WCAT sales, and mechanical reliability.
  • Responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Optimizes product flow, production rates, and product mix to meet customer demands.
  • Responsible for proactive resource management to mitigate production schedule risks.
  • Support a work environment characterized by employee involvement and participative management to encourage the highest level of employee commitment and cooperation.
  • Manage a cost center's staffing levels to support customer requirements while maintaining efficient operations.
  • Responsible for project management team and deliverables.
  • Responsible for engineering team and deliverables.
  • Responsible for application engineers and oversight of pre-sales process.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or 10 years' industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in management, engineering, or other related disciplines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proven experience with mid to high-rate production programs.
  • Demonstrated consistent use of the following competencies: Business acumen, composure, delegating, interpersonal savvy, planning, time management, timely decision making, presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Understanding and use of root cause analysis.
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated use of production control tools.
  • Experience in labor and capacity forecasting.
  • Demonstrated success in maximizing resources and throughput.
  • Demonstrated ability to remove waste from production process.
  • A demonstrated progressive increase in responsibilities within operations organization.
  • Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
