Anticipated Opening: Founding Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten TeacherThe Warwick Community School and District, nestled in the scenic woodlands of Western Massachusetts, seeks a dynamic and dedicated early childhood educator committed to using evidence-based practices, providing joyful learning opportunities, building strong relationships with families, and learning in and about nature. Our beautiful and innovative elementary school opened in the fall of 2023. In the fall of 2024 we hope to add a junior kindergarten (for children ages 3-5) and this educator will play a critical role in the development of this inclusive, nature-based junior kindergarten and kindergarten program.We are seeking an early childhood teacher who will provide high-quality reading and math instruction and place and project-based learning that is nature-inspired. Teachers who are a great fit for our school will be committed to teaching in multi-age classrooms and using standards-aligned, evidence-based, engaging curricula for deeper learning. We are also looking for teachers excited to take our foundational curriculum, based on EL Education units, and build upon it, centering the environment and student inquiry. Other curricula we use are Illustrative Mathematics (IM) in kindergarten through sixth grades and the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) in grades kindergarten through third, which is based on the science of reading.
