The Warwick Community School, nestled in the scenic woodlands of Western Massachusetts, seeks a full-time instructional assistant to provide academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support to our junior kindergarten/kindergarten classroom. Our beautiful and innovative elementary school opened in the fall of 2023. The school sits on a 25-acre outdoor campus with a vernal pool, a cranberry bog, and Mount Grace for hiking! Our curriculum centers nature and is both standards and project based. We are also committed to equity and social justice. The Role:The Preschool Instructional Assistant will provide direct support to students under the direction of a classroom teacher, individually or in a large or small group, in the general education classroom, or outside of the classroom. Our ideal candidate would have experience teaching individual or small group lessons and have a passion for nature. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:Provides assistance with classroom lessons and activities.Teaches lessons to small groups. Implements accommodations and modifications outlined in Individualized Education Plans. Works with students (1:1 or small group) to support their social, emotional, and academic growth and progress.Implements behavior modification techniques. Collects data as outlined by students’ individual programming and overseen by the teacher.Prepares instructional materials.Oversee less structured times, including recess and lunch. Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalentFinds joy in working with students ages 3, 4 and 5. Has early childhood experience.
