Role Description

This is a full-time onsite role located at Washington, DC for a Video Producer/Editor. The Video Producer/Editor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day tasks associated with producing, writing scripts, and voiceover (or tracking) video content for the Washington Examiner website, social media channels, and other multimedia platforms. The Producer/Editor will collaborate with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality and engaging content to our audience. This role will work Monday - Friday 11am to 7pm. Your daily job will be to produce articles on our site into videos. Specifically you will work with the reporter to turn the article into scripts, gather elements (sound bites, videos, pictures, graphics), track a voice over, and then send to an editor.

Required Qualifications

• Three years experience working in journalism or related field
• Proficiency in video editing software and tools
• Ability to find sound bites, videos, and pictures related to story
• Experience writing detailed scripts easily interpreted by an editor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects
• Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of political landscape and current events
• Three years experience in Adobe Premiere
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field
