Job Title: Assistant Wine Steward

Pay: $20-25/Hr

Location: The Washington Inn, Cape May, NJ

Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Reports To: Wine Director

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in Inventory Management:
• Assist in maintaining and organizing the wine cellar, ensuring all wines are stored properly.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
• Keep accurate records of wine stock and report discrepancies to the Head Wine Steward.
• Wine Service and Sales:
• Assist in recommending wine selections to guests.
• Serve wine and other beverages professionally.
• Ensure proper wine service, including decanting and serving.
• Promote and upsell wines.

Guest Services:

• Provide excellent service to guests, addressing their inquiries and preferences.
• Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and effectively.
• Maintain restaurant standards, recognize steps of service, support staff

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and food pairings.
• Ability to lift and carry wine cases and stand for extended periods.
