Education and Experience:• Valid secondary principal or superintendent license.• Master’s Degree in administration or supervision. •Minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience required. •Three (3) years in school administration or supervision preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities•Evaluation and scheduling•Computer literacy and educational technology•Curriculum development•Testing procedures and analysis•Effective communication with staff, students and families both written and verbal•Maintain safety of school environment •Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with staff, students, parents, and the public•Demonstration of and commitment to Washington Local School District’s Portrait of Panther Competencies: Empathy, Communication, Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Integrity, and Learner’s Mindset.Essential Functions1.Provide administrative leadership to Whitmer and CTC in directing staff and students in all aspects of instructional, operational programs and safety programs. 2.Responsible for providing educational leadership in curriculum areas including:•State testing curriculum alignment with state standards and its implementation•Instructional technology •Analyzing student data•Instructional practices and materials•Graduation requirements•Curriculum guides and implementation •Professional development 3.Conduct on-going monitoring and evaluation of associate principals’ areas of responsibility including:•Master schedule development and curriculum effectiveness•Safe learning environment •Testing and intervention •Attendance and discipline•Activities and athletics•Facilities•Evaluation of staff •CTC programs and services•Department Chair Personnel 4.Document attendance at professional meetings, workshops, and seminars; maintain accurate agendas and notes.5.Responsible for the safety and welfare of students and staff through:•Safety drills•Crisis planning•Enforcement of student code of conduct•Emergency situations6.Provide effective communication to staff, students, parents and stakeholders including:•Social media posts•Swift K-12 calls and emails•Weekly bulletin•School leadership teams•Parent organizations7.Responsible for evaluations of:•Associate principals•Licensed and Classified personnel as assigned•Department chairman•Provide input to supervisors for maintenance and cafeteria personnel8.Responsible for coordinating assignment of licensed employees in cooperation with the Human Resources Department, building administrators, and supervisors. Oversee scheduling and assignment of classified staff in cooperation with the appropriate classified supervisors. 9. Ensure appropriate record-keeping procedures for:•Student records •Compliance with confidentiality requirements•Personnel files•Activity funds •Departmental budgets and documentation of expenditures•Supply and equipment accounts10.Direct the high school public relations’ program and ensure effective, timely information to students, parents, and the community. 11.Conduct and attend meetings as necessary:•Faculty meetings, in-service, department head meetings•Parent meetings•Building Leadership Team (BLT)•District Leadership Team (DLT)•Teacher Based Teams (TBT)ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with: •Board of Education policies•Job description requirements•Master Agreements •Reference Handbook for Administrators and Supervisors•Administrative directives•Management of substitutes•After school events and activities•Student discipline/expulsions•Supervision of student arrival, dismissal, hallways and lunchroom•Event planning such as assemblies and senior events•Classroom visits 2.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.Working Conditions•Per SAAWLS Handbook•Possible occasional interaction or contact with unruly students•Possible occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue•Possible occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals•Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions
