Correctional Captain | CBCC
Location: Clallam Bay Corrections Center | Clallam Bay, WA
Salary Range: $108,726 Annually
The Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) is an adult correctional facility operating in support of the Washington State Department of Corrections mission and the goal to improve public safety. CBCC is seeking a detail focused and proactive problem solver to join their team as a Correctional Captain! The Correctional Captain is tasked with the goal of providing leadership for all other uniformed staff regardless of where they are assigned and administering and coordinating security related activities at a correctional facility level.
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent, your work will involve assuming responsibility for the interpretation of policy in the daily operations of a correctional facility with up to 850 incarcerated individuals. You will be responsible for the administration of essential staff and support services in connection with the review of activity reports, personal conferences, and the successful operations of assigned activities.
Correctional Captains are tasked with ensuring first and second level supervisors' work is reviewed using conference and management analysis techniques as well as making recommendations for hire and promotion of custody staff, including completion of appointment approval requests for Associate Superintendent/Superintendent’s signature. You will evaluate and make decisions concerning requests from the Lieutenant and Correctional Sergeants regarding operational areas of the institution, staff, and incarcerated individuals.
This position is required to administer and coordinate all security related activities of a principle organizational segment for a medium to max security correctional facility or serve in an administrative capacity. As an Incident Commander, you will coordinate operational procedures with the Shift Commander during all emergency responses.

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
