DescriptionBehavioral Health Administration is seeking two self-motivated individuals to join the team as an Investigator 2. This position reports directly to the BHA Senior Investigations Manager who reports directly to the BHA Statewide Investigations Program Manager. This position is part of the BHA HQ Investigations Department that conducts fact-findings and investigations related to patient abuse/neglect and employee misconduct. Some Of What You'll Do
Independently investigates employee patient abuse/neglect-related incidents or employee misconduct allegations
Gather and preserves pertinent evidence, including statements, incident reports, and security reports
Conduct in-depth interviews of complainants, respondents, subjects, and/or witnesses.
Prepare well-reasoned, well-written, fact-based and complete investigative reports and finding of facts.
Research, analyze, and evaluate information from multiple resources related to investigations
Investigative reports include well-documented evidence that follows the chain of evidence in support or non-support of the allegation(s).
Conduct quality reviews of case summaries investigated by other investigators within the BHA Investigations Department.
Assist in facilitating employee training, as assigned
What we're looking for:
Well-versed in DSHS employment investigation practice and state and federal laws
Knowledge of Just Cause principles, Garrity, and Weingarten rights
Strong interpersonal skills to de-escalate conflict in highly emotional situations
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
Who should apply? Professionals with one year of experience as an Investigator 1 within State services OR Three years of experience as an Investigator with a criminal justice agency or private organization or other directly related allied field OR One year of experience as an Investigator with a criminal justice agency or private organization or other directly related allied field.
And, at least two years of college-level course work with a major emphasis in one of the criminal justice disciplines, business administration, public administration, law, or directly allied field
Special Requirements And/or Conditions Of EmploymentMust be certified through a DSHS approved investigation training program within the first 6 months of hire. Incumbent must hold a valid driver’s license when operating a state or privately owned vehicle on official state business Working Environment
Work location will depend upon where you reside within the state of WA.
Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday
