Washington State Department of Social and Health Services is Hiring a DSHS TIA Fiscal Analyst 5 Near Olympia, WA

Description DSHS TIA Fiscal Analyst 5 Technology Innovation Administration is seeking a Fiscal Analyst 5. The position reports to and serves as the principal advisor to the Technology Innovation Administration (TIA)
Budget & Fiscal Services Manager (WMS Band 2) within Business Transformation. The position provides senior level governmental accounting expertise and serves as the expert for all day-to-day fiscal operations for TIA, ensuring that all financial transactions are performed in accordance with DSHS’s accounting policies and procedures.
Some Of What You'll Do
  • Oversee TIA financial activity including payment processes, purchasing, administrative procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with DSHS accounting standards
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), State Administrative & Accounting Manual (SAAM, OFM Policies & Procedures, and Federal Regulations
  • Advise and train staff on correct file usage, ensure compliance with record retention policies, and recommend changes and improvements to procedures as necessary
  • As the backup to the Budget & Fiscal Manager (WMS2) supports in the development and implementation of chargeback systems
  • Other duties as assigned
Who We're Looking ForA Bachelor’s degree in business which includes, 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting
AND
Four years of relevant professional fiscal experience
OR
A Master's degree in a financial related field; or certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager, or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience.
OR
Eight years of demonstrated professional/practical fiscal experience such as payment processing, purchasing, accounting standards application and GAAP, SAAM, OFM Policies & Procedures and Federal Regulations.
Professional experience may substitute for education, but not for the credit hours.
