Washington State Department of Social and Health Services is Hiring a DSHS WSH Registered Nurse 4 Near Lakewood, WA

Description DSHS WSH Registered Nurse 4 We’re looking to hire two Center Nurse Managers who reports to the Civil Center Chief Nursing Officer at Western State Hospital , a psychiatric hospital located in Lakewood, WA. In this position you are accountable for 24-hour management, supervision and leadership of 2 center-based wards. You plan and direct all nursing functions in assigned area in accordance with Nursing and Hospital standards to ensure consistent patient care delivery.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Free ORCA cards are available for Pierce County employees.
Some Of What You’ll Do
  • Plan and direct all nursing functions in assigned areas in accordance with Nursing, Security and Hospital standards to assure consistent patient care delivery in this highly secure area
  • Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards, Medicare, state and federal laws
  • Perform key leadership functions for nursing personnel
  • Communicate with all levels of the hospital organization
  • Allocate nursing resources for safe patient care
  • Articulates and interprets nursing care standards and hospital policies
  • Remain current in Nursing Practice, roles and functions of all patient care team members
  • Evaluate the patient care delivery system
  • Respond to and formulate complex reports
  • Complete employee evaluations and audits; direct, motivate, interview, and provide corrective action for employees; investigate staff/patient complaints
  • Assures all nursing documentation is in compliance with standards, treatment plans and progress notes
  • Conduct regularly scheduled nursing staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
Who Should ApplyLicensed Washington State RNs who have:
Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing AND have four years of professional nursing experience, including two years in a lead capacity over other nursing personnel.
A bachelor's degree or higher degree involving a major study in nursing may be substituted for two years of nonsupervisory experience.
One year of full-time experience teaching nursing may be substituted for one year of supervisory experience.
