About the Division:

The Criminal Records Division (CRD) is comprised of four Sections: Collision Records Section, ACCESS Section, Identification and Background Check Section, and Criminal History Records Section. The Washington State Patrol provides services for both criminal justice and non-criminal justice purposes and is also responsible for maintaining the statewide repository for fingerprint-based criminal history record information (CHRI).

About the Position:
The Management Analyst 3 (MA3) position reports directly to the Drug Conviction Correction Unit Supervisor and supports the organization’s mission by overseeing the operations of the Drug Conviction Correction Unit (DCCU) including scheduling, training, and reviewing the key work activities and essential functions of the employees assigned to this unit. This position is self-directed or assigned by the unit supervisor, and interacts with Assistant Division Commander, unit supervisors, other peer leads, and other internal and external stakeholders to accomplish work.

Duties

Our new teammate will be able to:

  • Develop criminal history record information processes for Drug Conviction Correction Unit.
  • Organize and prioritize individual work to manage multiple tasks and/or projects with minimal supervision.
  • Organize and prioritize the work schedule of others to manage multiple tasks and/or projects.
  • Assume basic supervisory duties in the absence of a unit supervisor,
  • Make recommendations to supervisor and executive leadership on personnel matters and other process improvements
  • Identify the need for updates to existing or establishing new programs.
  • Compile and analyze stakeholder feedback received during development and provide suggestions to management based on the feedback.
  • Coordinate functional requirements of Criminal History Records Section with ITD resources.
  • Identify problems and analyze/evaluate operating deficiencies.
  • Provide professional and technical advice to management and others regarding issues impacting programs, policies, organizations, and/or jurisdictions.
  • Assist supervisor and management to identify and plan business process changes for short and long term strategic goals.
  • Develop and deliver business processes and procedures for training to ensure Correctional Records Technicians comply with operational requirements.
  • Lead, coordinate, and/or assist with various division projects as needed.
NOTE: This is not a full-time telework position. Candidates must be able and willing to work in the office up to 50% of their work week and commute to Olympia. A hybrid work schedule can be discussed upon completion of the required training period.
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel for training or offsite meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Two years maintaining or processing offender records in an adult correctional, criminal justice, or law enforcement agency.
    • College level course work criminal justice, business administration, accounting, social science, or a related field will substitute year for year for experience.
  • Ability to obtain A Central Computerized Enforcement Service System (ACCESS) Level 1 certification within six months of start date.
