Position Summary

Provide analysis, planning, organization, communication and management necessary to support all aspects of Washington University authentication services inside the Identity and Access Management space such as Microsoft Active Directory, cloud identity and access management services, authentication integrations, and privileged access management. Operational responsibility includes managing the single sign-on ecosystem including integrations, service desk escalation, security incident consultation, and working with customers to onboard their applications to our authentication environment. This position also participates in management discussions, planning, and assisting in the development of strategic plans at the functional level.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the coordination of the service delivery for assigned Shared Infrastructure Functional Areal. Primary functions include:
    • Solution Engineering, process analysis and system design of systems.
    • Management of projects and system support including supervision of personnel.
    • Ensuring data integrity and security of these systems.
    • Participating in management discussions and planning at the department level to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet business requirements.
    • New programming as needed to keep projects on target.
  • Provides leadership, recruitment and development of professional staff and ongoing evaluation to include resource allocations and organizational of staffing.
  • Disciplined project management methodology including documentation and implementation standards required to meet project milestones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree.
  • Experience working in a University environment.
  • Experience managing or supporting Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra Id.
  • Experience with the Saviynt SaaS Identity Governance and Administration platform.
  • Experience reading and writing Powershell scripts.
  • Experience with Identity Governance concepts including account and identity lifecycles.
  • Experience implementing a least privilege access model.
  • Experience with CyberArk or equivalent privileged access management systems.
  • Knowledge of NIST guidelines supporting Identity and Access Management access controls.
  • Fundamental knowledge of API technologies and provisioning models.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of authentication protocols including NTLM, LDAP, Kerberos, OAUTH, SAML, Open ID, and OIDC.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra conditional access and MFA policies.
  • Experience managing changes that impact large enterprise customer populations and business processes.
  • Ability to build and invest in relationships throughout an enterprise.
  • Experience implementing role-based access models.
  • Ability to adjust to abrupt changes in priorities and strategy.
  • Exercise good judgment and common sense in determining priorities.
  • Possess excellent people skills when working with internal and external contacts.
  • Excellent time management, resource planning and project management skills required for seeing projects through to completion.
  • Possess strong business analysis skills and excellent technical background to allow understanding and employment of technology solutions in business functions.
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours as necessary and recognize the need to do so.
  • Strong technical aptitude with major technology platforms.
  • Experience with design, creation and implementation of enterprise-class systems.
  • Experience with design, programming and implementation of business solutions.
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish objectives, prepare action plans and communicate such plans clearly and effectively to all staff levels (management, technical and clerical).
  • Strong business analysis/project management skills and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field plus six years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Background with business information systems at a management level preferably in an academic environment.

Salary Range

$94,100.00 - $165,600.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
