Laboratory Description
The Sleepy Brain Lab (https://sleepybrainlab.wustl.edu/) focuses on three areas: postoperative delirium, treatment-resistant depression, and the interface between anesthetized and sleep states. Markers and modulators of sleep, including the repurposing of anesthetics, are at the core of these efforts. The group leverages electroencephalography, functional magnetic resonance imaging, and cognitive assessments in human translational neuroscience investigations. Active/pending NIH funding currently covers delirium and depression investigations. Our multidisciplinary group is diverse, building from expertise of anesthesiologists, engineers, sleep technologists, and psychiatrists.

Role Description
This is for a full-time role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate within the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments, performing data analysis, contributing to ongoing research projects, and disseminating findings. Additionally, the Research Associate will teach and mentor students. Projects will be tailored based on applicant's background, anticipated career trajectory, and passions.
