Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Scientist at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. As a Senior Scientist, your day-to-day tasks will involve conducting research, analyzing data, publishing findings, and collaborating with colleagues. You will play a crucial role in advancing scientific knowledge and contributing to breakthrough discoveries in your field.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborates on designing, conducting and reporting of research projects
• Prepares and submits papers on research
• Develops hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it
• Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions
• Mentors advanced undergraduate and graduate researchers on research projects related to area(s) of expertise
• Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• PhD, M.D. or equivalent terminal degree and at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience equaling 12 years.
• Demonstrated ability to complete projects.
• Expertise in molecular mechanism studies of acute kidney injury and/or chronic kidney diseases
• Track record of publishing in reputable scientific journals
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Demonstrated working knowledge of standard laboratory policies, procedures and equipment.
• Ability to communicate in oral and written form with all levels of personnel and technical publications.
