Water's Edge Dermatology is Hiring a Radiation Therapist Near Fort Pierce, FL
Summary/ObjectiveRadiation Therapists provide radiation treatments to help patients with cancer and other diseases.
Essential Functions
- Adheres to the Water’s Edge Mission Statement, Credo and Service Goals and Values providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Works under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist
- Explains treatment plans to the patient and answer questions about treatment
- Follows safety procedures to protect the patient and themselves from overexposure to radiation; examines machines to make sure they are safe and working properly
- Checks computer programs to make sure the machine will give the correct dose of radiation to the appropriate area of the patient's body
- Administers the prescribed doses of radiation to specific bod y parts by positioning patients accurately according to the prescription, operating and adjusting the radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
- Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart and identification.
- Monitors the patient to check for unusual reactions to the treatment.
- Documents detailed treatment records in the patients EHR, schedules daily treatments, follows up with patients for appointments, and assists the Chief RTT as requested.
- Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks in a collegial manner.
Work EnvironmentThis role requires regular walking to various locations around the work site. This role also routinely comes into contact with other employees who may have contagious illnesses.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires sitting for long periods of time but could also require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping occasionally. The employee must lift and/or move items less than 20 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position for a healthcare facility which is open during business hours Monday through Friday. On time and regular attendance including work during inclement weather will be required. This position may also require over time hours to be worked if necessary to complete assigned tasks.
TravelSome daytime travel will be required for this position to help cover local clinics. No overnight trips (Travel Reimbursement Available)

- Must be detailed oriented to insure exact measurements
- Very good interpersonal skills to interact with patients and coworkers
- Must have good technical skills
