Water World is seeking a Service & Parts Manager for our boat service department. This position will be responsible for managing 2-3 mechanics and maintaining a small retail parts and accessory store.
Daily responsibilities will include interfacing with retail and service customers, vendors, and other internal teams. This will require scheduling service for customers, managing inventory levels of stocked items including ordering and receiving, maintaining the showroom, filing, and monitoring warranty claims, tracking and reporting mechanics projects, hours and billable hours, and other duties as assigned.
Basic to intermediate computer skills are required; applications such as Microsoft Office and email are used regularly. Dealership and manufacturer specific or custom software training will be available but basic aptitude is required.
During the summer season, justified overtime is available and some overtime may be expected. Extended vacations are preferably scheduled in the offseason. Water World is closed on Sunday and Monday, working on Saturdays is required.
This position interfaces directly with customers and mechanics and requires the ability to interact appropriately and effectively with different types of people and personalities.
This position is in an environment where workload levels and priorities change frequently. The candidate must be able to adapt to a dynamic work environment. An assistant will be assigned once per week to help facilitate merchandising, cleaning and general organization of the marina and showroom space.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with boats and motors, mechanic shop operations, have an easy and outgoing but strong and driving personality and work ethic.
Initially, this would be an hourly position, starting at $24.00 per hour. Additional income including overtime, bonuses, commissions, employee discounts, educational opportunities, and other incentives offer a strong candidate the potential to achieve an estimated annual income in the $60,000 - $70,000 range. The ideal candidate will have some personnel management experience allowing them to provide accurate and constructive input on personnel decisions. This position reports directly to the President and Owner of the company.
