Waterford Union High School is seeking a qualified candidate to join its support staff building
maintenance team as a full-time custodian. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week with a varied
schedule*) and includes benefits. We offer competitive compensation for the region, self-funded health
insurance, fully covered dental insurance, a health reimbursement arrangement, and a matching 403(b)
option for years of service. *First shift hours will be 6:30 AM-3:00 PM year round. Position will report
Monday-Friday during the months of April until October, and Tuesday-Saturday during the months of
November through March.
Duties include cleaning and other custodial duties, assisting in the set-up and tear-down of facilities for
athletic/fine art/school and community programming events, maintaining the high school facility, grounds
keeping, etc. This position is responsible for on-going maintenance and minor repair of plumbing,
electrical, carpentry, and custodial equipment.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma
2. Valid Wisconsin Driver License
3. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
4. Ability to work with limited supervision
5. Ability to work as part of a team.

1. Clean classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, gyms, locker rooms, and other areas of the school.
2. Be able to perform necessary maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding).
3. Prepare, seal, and buff floor in preparation for floor finishing.
4. Operate floor scrubbing machine and wet vacuum.
5. Dust surfaces that require the use of a ladder, scaffolding, or the aerial platform.
6. Replace light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, and light ballasts.
7. Assists in repairs to vandalized areas, such as boarding broken up broken windows, etc.
10. Assist in unusual situations when needed (fire alarms, water spills, etc.).
11. Secure building, lock and unlock interior and exterior doors.
12. Work with any custodial machinery.
13. Maintain and keep all equipment in good operating order
14. Maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
15. Pick up and deliver materials when needed.
16. Unload supplies delivered to the school.
17. Shovel snow and perform other winter-related work.
18. Assist with outside maintenance when requested.
19. Any other duty as requested by Building and Grounds Supervisor or Administration
