Waterford Union High School is Hiring a Maintenance Worker- Waterford Union High School Near Waterford, WI

Waterford Union High School is seeking a qualified candidate to join our building support staff as a full-time maintenance team member. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with benefits. We offer competitive compensation for the region, self-funded health insurance, fully covered dental insurance, a health reimbursement arrangement, and a matching 403(b) option for years of service. This position reports first shift M-F (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) and is required to report to work during off-times in emergency situations.

My duties include providing maintenance services and performing various tasks related to the efficient operation of the school district. Responsible for on-going maintenance and minor repair of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and custodial equipment.

Essential Functions:

● Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient preventative maintenance program.

● Maintain a high degree of self-motivation and self-direction; express a positive and cooperative

attitude and work ethic.

● The ability to work with hand tools necessary to perform all maintenance functions

● Completes 95% of preventative maintenance work orders within 3-5 work days

● The ability to operate light and heavy machinery.

● Assist with winter snow removal and summer lawn/field maintenance.

● Determining the supply needs and creating requisitions and purchase orders within the Maintenance

Department.

● Properly complete daily and scheduled assignments.

● Provide building and grounds security as assigned.

● Actively contribute to reducing energy consumption per energy conservation program.

● Must be able to serve as a positive role model.

● Attendance is an essential function of this position.

● Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical and Work Environment:

The physical and work environment described is representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, bend, twist and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and perform repetitive motions; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

● The employee may occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 90 pounds, and with assistance, move and transport materials and equipment in excess of 200 pounds.

● The employee will regularly lift and transport items, including but not limited to lifting garbage bags out of 55 gallon trash barrels and transporting the bags, which could weigh up to 60 lbs., and lifting up folding cafeteria tables (weighing up to 335 lbs) at the center and pushing the folded tables on wheels up to 50% of working hours.

● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

● While performing the duties of this job the employee is expected to work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. The employee may be required to work in close quarters where temperatures can be in excess of 100 °F.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 5 years experience in maintenance, plumbing and/or HVAC preferred.

● Ability to operate and maintain commercial equipment.

● Good organization and public relation skills.

● Readiness to work in all climates of weather

● Ability to perform duties complying with all safety standards.

● General knowledge of construction techniques.

● Must be able to exhibit knowledge and ability to satisfactorily complete work with various

maintenance trades.

Education and Requirements:

● Obtain within six months of hire and maintain throughout duration of his/her employment a Valid

Wisconsin certified pesticides applicators license, 7.1 Structural Pest Control.

● Ability to meet all requirements and responsibilities, including a high school diploma or G.E.D.

● Maintain a valid Wisconsin drivers license throughout the duration of his/her employment.

● Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

● Ability to statistically manipulate numbers; make advanced mathematical calculations; check for accuracy.

Reasoning Ability:

● Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

● Ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems.

● Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions with several abstract and concrete variables.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
