Job Summary :

A Line Cook is in charge of preparing and cooking food as well as setting up other necessary supplies. They make sure everything has been set up correctly before starting work.

  • Duties / Responsibilities :

    • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
    • Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
    • Follow all safety and health regulations.
    • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
    • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
    • Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
    • Clean up the station and take care of leftover food.
    • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
    • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
    • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
    • Dedicated to upholding our standards of excellence and hospitality.

    Required Skills / Abilities :

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
    • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
    • Must be able to work well as part of a team.
    • Must be able to work well under pressure.
    • Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    Education and Experience :

    • Hold a Food Handler's Card, or the ability to obtain one.
    • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
    • Cooking : 2 years (Preferred)
    • Restaurant Experience : 2 years (Preferred)

    Physical Requirements :

    • Prolonged periods walking or standing.
    • Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time.
    • Must be able to work : 8 hours shifts, days, nights, weekends, overtime, and / or holidays as needed.
    • Must be able to work in a hot environment.
