Position: Head High School Varsity Cross Country Coach (SY 24-25) (Stipend)
Department: Athletics
Reports to: Director of Athletics
Affiliation: Unit A, Section F
Salary range: $4,580.00 - $5,539.00 stipend
Time Commitment
  • The team meets six days a week.
  • The coach works around 15-20 hours a week,
  • The team has one 1 race per week
  • Season runs: 8/19/2024-11/8/2024

This is a stipend positionSummaryThe Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding head coach to coach the cross country team for the 2024-2025 school year. WPS is dedicated to excellence, equity, and community. Come be a part of creating a bright future for WPS students.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Planning all areas of their own team.
  • Leading and assisting their coaching staff to coordinate efforts under one program goal and making sure of compliance with rules at all levels
  • Analyze Game strategy.
  • Implementation of skill development
  • Coverage of bus trips
  • Video analysis of games
  • Attending all league meetings and local, district, and state meetings when necessary.
  • Reaching out to local Youth Groups to promote their respective sports in town.
  • Planning award ceremonies and individual award winners.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • CPR certified
  • NFHS Concussion course completed
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experince coaching cross country
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
