Watertown Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is Hiring a Director of Staff Development Near Watertown, MA

The primary purpose of the job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all staff development educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Is responsible for providing learning opportunities that will enable all employees to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform their assigned duties safely and effectively. Plans for, coordinates and may instruct State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant courses. Must posses a Nursing license.
Works closely with department heads, assessing the on-going learning needs of employees in order to meet the needs of the residents, the organization, and the employees
Knowledge of company’s goals and objectives, policies and procedures of Federal, State, and Local regulations
Utilize company policies and procedures, job descriptions, quality assurance surveys, regulations, etc., to identify, plan, implement, and evaluate learning experiences
Plans, coordinates, conducts learning programs, including State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program, for employees based on identified needs
Assist guest instructors as needed
Evaluates the effectiveness of learning programs
For all new employees, coordinates individual department orientation, working cooperatively with department heads.
Closely monitors learning process, use and maintenance of skills learned by employees during orientation
Evaluates the effectiveness of orientation programs
Maintains accurate and complete records of general orientation program for all personnel
Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of on going staff development programs for all personnel participating
Secures and maintains necessary reference, audiovisual, and instructions
Maintain on-going staff development program calendar of State and Federal mandated educational in-services
Review and develop a Plan of Correction for Plant Services deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such to the Administrator
Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluation studies, etc.
Notify personnel of necessary in-service training and additional opportunities
Knowledge of and complies with Corporate Compliance plan
Be knowledge of, at a minimum, the last 3 years of Plan of Corrections (2567) and actively participate in the facilities ongoing plan to correct and prevent occurrences
Participate in own employee performance evaluation, determining growth needs and goals.
Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
Meet with your supervisor as needed, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident.
Follows established personnel policies according to employee handbook as well as established policies and procedures.
Report absenteeism/call-ins to the Administrator.
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
Attends facility and corporate department head meetings as required.
Complies with dress code.
Wears name tag while in the facility.
Maintains current immunization record.
Maintains any and all required certifications/licensure.
Attends all mandatory personnel meetings.
Assist in creating & updating job descriptions at least annually. Obtain the appropriate approval per policy before implementation
Facilitates communication among employees. supervisors, and instructors on all shifts to assess, plan, implement, an evaluate learning process
