About The Role
As a Senior Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) Manager- you will be responsible for serving as the subject matter expert for HS&E by developing, communicating and implementing, with the U.S. HS&E teams, continuously improved operating systems and plans for each Manufacturing Center of Excellence (MCoE), Advanced Development Center (ADC) and Advanced Technology Centers(ATC).
This role will proactively design strategic initiatives that will align with industry standards and the competitive environment of the organization. In this role you will use best practices and update procedures and policies as we grow to meet our global commitments and create a safe working environment for all our team members.
In charge of leading the strategy for company-wide leadership and management of the HSE policies, procedures and operational guidance that will enable a culture of workforce behaviors directed towards safety, health, incident and accident prevention, regulatory compliance, environmental management and performance outcomes that engage the connection of the workforce to Watlow and its culture.
Provide expertise and leadership that will engage the Operational leaders in driving the culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization. A culture that keeps our team members safe, protects the loss exposure of the company, and is focused on compliance with applicable government regulations and internal standards and values.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Working with local HS&E team members and leadership to ensure compliance with all local, federal, and global regulations.
- Create the qualification and prequalification program for all contractors and machine building vendors.
- Travelling to vendors to do safety audits on new capital expenditures or long term lease equipment before Watlow acceptance.
- Lead ergonomic and safety design initiatives as needed for new equipment in manufacturing
- Develop Watlow ergonomic initiatives throughout entire enterprise.
- Lead the completion for all governmental reporting
- Manage and be the subject matter expert regarding worker compensation cases
- Track and lead initiative around the Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR)
- Up to 70% travel. Focus will be managing St Louis, Hannibal, Columbia MO; Winona, MN, Houston, TX.; SEMI End-user support.
- Meet Key Performance Indicators and Deliverables as negotiated with and set by Executive Team annually.
- Develop and implement operational HS&E systems applicable to the Portfolio.
- Ensure the systems are being adhered to through a rigorous auditing and inspection regime.
- Develop an understanding of Key Client functioning and customize the HS&E function to support their needs
- Ensure all Watlow U.S. facilities are operating using the Watlow Safety Management Systems
- Bachelor’s degree in safety or environmental studies
- Third party certification, such as LSP, CSP, CIH certification
- 7 to 10 years’ experience
- Location for this role ideally would sit in St. Louis for Headquarters support.
- Advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred in an area of Health and Safety
- Provides guidance for best known methods for team collaboration and health, safety, and environmental best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Executive-level presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building
