This role will focus on:As the successful candidate, being a Plastics Process Engineer means you will work collaboratively across production and other business units, acting as a key driver in the effectiveness and efficiency in the development of our company’s manufactured products. This is a rare opportunity to be working within a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, so it’s important that you aim to ensure that we are health and safety complaint and are working to produce exceptional quality products. You will achieve this by maintaining high performing assembly lines and executing in operational and line clearance functions, as well as leading and coaching your developing team to thrive in this new environment.
As an integral part of our success, you will initially be focused on:
The primary responsibility for the Process Engineer is to improve manufacturing yields, cycle time, material utilization and uptime through identification of opportunities on projects with root cause elimination
Solve problems and improve process using a structured and methodical approach and appropriate application of statistics
Provide day-to-day support for the manufacturing process including resolving process upsets, process changes, training, etc.
Lead projects involved in process and product optimization, cost reduction, or maintenance of business activities
Trouble shoot and support long term solutions with process and equipment issues, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions
Use engineering principles, data analysis and problem-solving tools such as DMAIC, PDCA, and FMEA to solve problems
What you’ll be doing
You will Ensure product meets or exceeds quality specifications
You will Develop, write, execute, analyze and document experimental plans and interpret and document results: plan, communicate and implement changes driven by results.
You will support new product or processes development activities
You will collaborate and support other areas of the business as required.
You will assist in the achievement of manufacturing KPI targets.
Assist and lead in the identification and resolution of product quality issues
Maintain and develop process documentation
Ensure best practices are evaluated, communicated and implemented in the areas of process control and discipline, experiment planning and statistical analysis and corrective actions
Communicate and document project progress and status and put sustaining process controls and tracking in place to ensure permanent correction
Ensure all equipment has a TPM plan that is strictly adhered to
Implement where appropriate SPC controls to ensure final product remains in customer specifications.
To be successful in this role, you will need:Knowledge of BS EN ISO 13485 and cGMP standards.
Awareness of BS EN ISO 14644 clean room requirements.
Previous experience with AutoCad, Minitab, Creo.
Critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Be organised, methodical, resilient and approachable with strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with global colleagues.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Change control and SPC’s.
Be delivery focused with strong attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure.
Can effectively and appropriately challenge others.
Can use personal initiative to work collaboratively as one team with a “can do” approach.
Have strong commercial awareness with an appreciation of operational functions.
