Watsontown Brick, a General Shale company, is part of the largest producer of brick and sustainable building solutions in North America. We are in search for an Electrical Technician to help support our Columbia, SC commercial brick plant operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • Maintaining / troubleshooting plant electrical systems and automated equipment
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Installing new equipment including running wire and conduit
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories anticipating future needs.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Provides electrical maintenance guidance to plant operations personnel.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF:

· The National Electrical Code

· Motor Control Circuits

· Variable Speed Drives

· Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley 500 & 5000 ideal)

· HMIs

· Networking

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School degree (or equivalent)
  • 3-5 years Electrical maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Majority of the time is spent standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending. The candidate must be capable of lifting to 50lbs.
