As the Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the development of a modern data platform that pulls data from several internal and external source systems for analytical and operational use-cases. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Watts Digital, you'll collaborate with product and engineering teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to guide strategic projects focused on extracting insights from data.

• Lead the development, maintenance, and scalability of data pipelines and overall data architecture of the data lake as it pertains to Watts Digital's use-cases.

• Partner with Watts Data/Analytics team on broader use-cases for the business.

• Ensure uptime of data pipelines and reliability of data, can resolve issues as they arise.

• Find ways to automate schema drift discovery to avoid broken pipelines.

• Meet with engineering teams to understand data schemas and planned changes to those schemas.

• Analyze source data systems (relational or non-relational, blob, API, 3rd party), perform data discovery, and build data pipelines to pull in data from those sources to meet objectives.

• 5 years of experience with ETL technologies in the cloud (Azure Synapse experience is a plus).

• 3 years of experience with Databricks and are familiar with big data technologies like Spark.

• 5 years of experience with Python, Scala, .NET, Java or similar languages and comfortable working with SQL.

• 5 years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling. You are also comfortable with medallion architecture.

• Experience designing, building and maintaining scalable data processing systems.

• Experience with CI/CD processes and experience deploying changes across multiple environments.

• Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) devices and time series data is a plus.
