Job Details DescriptionScope of Work:A Waukesha Pearce Industries (WPI) Generator Tech Master Journeyman is expected to perform startup, maintenance, and repair of all generator manufactures. Read and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams/schematics while troubleshooting and repairing engines and generators as well as automatic transfer switches. Perform planned maintenance and load bank tests on generators. Assist in training other generator techs. Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Primary Job Responsibilities
Must be able to troubleshoot all generators and transfer switches for all manufacturers.
Read electrical prints, evaluate, and troubleshoot engine and governor problems.
Perform all types of engine repair.
Troubleshoot, teardown, and rebuild alternators and swing engine when applicable.
Assist in the training of other generator PM technicians.
Complete service reports daily.
Perform preventive maintenance when asked to do so.
Promote good welfare among the company and its’ divisions.
Must be able to research and put tougher quote information accurately for Product Support Rep.
Perform Weekly truck inspections as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have 7 year(s) previous experience.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must be able to perform startups, repair/troubleshoot generators.
Read and understand all types of electrical drawings.
Have a complete understanding of how a generator works.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)
Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives
Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI requirements
Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by WPI
Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company.
Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
Must be able to lift 50, bend and twist several times daily
Must have a complete understanding of how a generator works regardless of the brand
Must be able to perform startups, repair/troubleshoot generators of any size, make and model
Must be able to read and interpret all types of electrical drawings and schematics
Must know how to hook operate load bank equipment
Must be able to assume the role of Leaderman position when needed
Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
Must be dependable and able to work independently
Must promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment
Must meet minimum performance standards for all assignments
Must protect the company assets and interests
Working Conditions
Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Overtime and weekend hours as necessary.
Outside work.
Must be available for after hour callouts
Will be added to the after hour on-call list
Continued employment in the position of Generator Tech Master Journeyman and future advancement will be contingent on your ability to learn from WPI and manufacturer sponsored training classes. Failure to complete and pass these training classes could prevent future advancement.
