Job Title: Student Ministries Director

Status:  Full-time 

Supervisor: Family Ministries Director

The focus of the position is to be the point leader and visionary for student ministries, directly oversee the high school ministry, and oversee all aspects of content and direction for student ministries.

Students Ministries Director:

• Carry out the vision of student ministries to build strong foundations for a new generation of Spirit-led leaders.
• Oversee all content for all student ministry teachings.
• Direct, connect, communicate, coach, and resource the student’s leadership staff.
• Oversees and coaches any interns/residents.
• Develop and oversee strategy for reaching new students for yearly growth.
• Develop and oversee student’s discipleship pathway.
• Oversee all student ministries operations.
• Oversees the execution of social media platforms and is able to strategize how to use them as ministry outlets.
• Oversees student ministries budget.

Specific Environments:

• Midway (middle school ministry):
  • Oversee the execution of middle school ministry through the delegation to that area director.
  • Ensure that the content plan for the year is geared to help students with their new and deeper with Jesus and is in unity with Waymaker.Church’s beliefs.
  • Ensure that the vision of Family Ministries is being followed in middle school environments. 
  • Occasionally teach in middle school environment.
• WayYouth (high school ministry):
  • Oversee the execution of high school ministry directly.
  • Create and execute the sermon series for high school ministry.
  • Teaches regularly and schedules any guest speakers.
  • Ensures that high school ministry programming is excellent and effective.
  • Oversees any student-based leadership team/environment.
  • Oversees small group leaders and other volunteers and regularly connects with leadership team for connection and strategy.

World Changers

• Interviews any potential student ministries volunteers.
• Recruit new volunteers as needed. 
• Create and maintain healthy volunteer culture.
• Oversees and plans training for any volunteer positions or needs.

Parent Engagement

• Develops new strategies to connect with parents in person and digitally.
• Executes at least 2 parent meetings a year.

Events

• Oversees vision and execution of student ministry events.
  • Team vision nights, leader training nights, camps and retreats, etc.
