Wayne-Sanderson Farms is Hiring a Remote Sanitation Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for efficiently cleaning plant, while meeting both company and regulatory requirements, and maintaining a safe working environment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Sanitation Responsibilities Supervise sanitation personnel ensuring safe and timely sanitation of the plant as well as counseling and development of all Sanitation employees. Ensure safe operation of the Sanitation Shift. Track inventory and usage of sanitation related chemicals. Ensure all Sanitation employees follow established cleaning procedures as required by Wayne Farms and the appropriate regulatory agencies. Provide effective training of employees. Ensure proper time and attendance for all associates. Ensure proper staffing levels for the department. Inspect employees, processes and equipment ensuring compliance with USDA, QA and Company standards. Act as main communication link between USDA and QA in regards to sanitation issues. Act as main communication link between plant and chemical suppliers. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma, or equivalent, plus 3 years relevant experience in a supervisory/ management role, OR Associates Degree/Technical Certificate and 1 years relevant experience in a supervisory/management role. 3 years relevant experience in food processing. High sense of urgency and energy. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Basic Computer Skills required: Microsoft Word and Excel. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Bachelors degree with previous food processing plant supervisory experience is preferred. HACCP Certification preferred. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees approximately 50 hourly employees and 1 supervisor. Plans, assigns, schedules, and organizes labor and tasks. Evaluates employee performance. Rewards and disciplines employees. Addresses complaints and resolves problems. Maintains a good working relationship with other managers and plant leadership. PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: Manages multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritizes work accordingly. Conduct root cause analysis for preventive measures (determine why deviations occur to product specifications or sanitation, product data, etc.) Applies basis reasoning skills and carries out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to read, understand and interpret data and draw logical conclusions based on the available inputs. Applies critical thinking skills in standardized situations as well as non-routine problems. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently lifts up to 70 lbs. Frequent overhead lifting. Frequently walks throughout the facility. Frequently stoops, kneels, and crawls. Frequently uses visual skills to inspect product, conditions, facility, and people for GMP’s (General Manufacturing Practices). Occasionally climbs. (May be required to use a ladder to check for cleanliness.) Constantly subject to extremely wet and cold environments as well as wet and hot environments.
