Project Assistant, Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program

Essential functions (job duties):

JobPurpose
The Project Assistant will assist the Principal Investigator in completing tasks associated with the project. The Project Assistant will also assist in coordinating activities of the grant with grant partners and grant key personnel and serve as a resource to the key personnel in reference to the administrative management of the project.

EssentialFunctions

Assist investigatorswith the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of variousquality improvement initiatives. Interfacewith program/project staff and participants to assess and determine goals,objectives, and needs; recommend procedural changes to support operationalactivities as needed

Prepare writtencorrespondence, memorandum, and informational pieces on program activities andprepare materials for dissemination. Assist investigators with meetingpublication submission deadlines and report deadlines. 

Serve as liaison tovarious outside agencies, organizations, vendors, study groups or individualsand University personnel. Communicate grant related activities to key personneland partner agencies and their personnel. Coordinate and arrange program meetings,presentations, activities, and services. Manage grant projecttimelines/deliverables and ensure adherence to project deadlines 

Provide training andsupport to staff and participants involved in grant related projects andactivities 

Assist withparticipant recruitment, scheduling, record keeping. Collect, analyze, andarchive data. Keep abreast of developments in post grant activities andintegrate such in the day-to-day work of the role. 

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Unique duties:

Qualifications:

Education Bachelor's degree
Graduationfrom an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination ofeducation and/or experience.
Experience Intermediate (3 to 4 years job-related experience)
Administrative assistant experience working in an office and demonstrated experience of office management activities.
Strong computing experience and can work with Excel, MS Word. Experience using office systems such as: TEAMS, Zoom, mobile applications, websites, project management software.
Previous Grant/Research grant experience preferred
Some knowledge and experience of structured interviewing techniques preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to interact with various socio-economic groups and military veteran personal.
Some knowledge of a specific discipline or the operational activities of an assigned area, e.g., psychology, computing technology, geriatrics, teacher education, etc.
Strong written and/or oral communication skills.
Experience working on service or research projects as a student intern or volunteer.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
The ability to schedule and coordinate meetings.
Strong computing skills, and light database development.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
The ability to understand the needs of non-traditional adult students.
