Description:Waypoint's client is seeking a RF Engineer Senior Sub (Radar), to join their team. As a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, you will collaborate with other talented and dedicated engineers who excel in analyzing complex challenges for the launch-test range. You will develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and their customers. This role involves leading an engineering team, managing technical aspects of projects, and supporting multi-disciplined project teams.Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute new capabilities for tracking radars.
Perform complex system modeling, simulation, and analysis to determine optimal technical solutions.
Plan, conduct, and assist the project manager in executing engineering projects.
Coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel on assigned projects.
Analyze, develop, recommend, and implement approaches to meet customer requirements.
Serve as an interface for project information to internal management and customers.
Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced personnel.
Provide expertise to restore operational systems.
Communicate technical issues effectively, both verbally and in writing, through presentations and reports.
Read and create wire diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
Utilize strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Manage time effectively to balance, prioritize, and execute projects.
Interact with internal and external support personnel and provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
Work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with time constraints.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant radar engineering experience, including:
Experience with RF components such as local oscillators, doublers, mixers, and attenuators.
Knowledge of monopulse radar tracking systems and/or shipboard radar systems (preferred).
Experience with high power tube and solid-state RF amplifiers.
Experience with C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems (desired).
Familiarity with legacy range radars (e.g., AN/FPQ-6, AN/FPQ-14, AN/FPS-16) (desired).
Knowledge of antennas and antennas tracking systems.
Experience with digital interface design, including familiarity with interface modules, cable/wire types, and connector systems.
Experience with hardware systems integration and testing.
Ability to provide inputs for engineering project proposals within defined time constraints.
Proficiency in using specialized test equipment, including VOMs, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
Proficiency in technical writing for developing reports, white papers, and support documentation.
Experience with computer systems, including single-board computers (SBCs), servers, and workstations.
Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and CAD software.
Flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
