DESCRIPTION School To Work, Software Validation - ePowertrain Electrification and Controls We are looking for a talented Student to join our team for our School To Work, Software Validation - ePowertrain Electrification and Controls opening in our location in Troy, MI. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
The Cummins-Meritor Cooperative Education Student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree of Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Control Systems Engineering.
Responsible developing and executing validation of application and base software for electric powertrain and shift system applications. Work together with system controls engineers and software engineers to bring product from concept to production.
Responsible for creating the validation plan; designing, developing and executing the implementation of test cases to guarantee the quality of the application software
Support the development of software test plan and test specification
Create high level as well as detailed software verification and validation plans
Develop and maintain the validation framework for automation of test framework
Create test cases and detailed test content to validate the application softwar
Define test cases for Fault Management & Diagnostics, Performance & Timing of Embedded SW
Design and development DVP following ASPICE process
Test for compliance to ISO-26262 Functional Safety
Ensure test configuration management process is implemented and consistently followed
Specify, build, utilize, and maintain HIL equipment
Perform MIL/SIL/HIL software validation testing and plant model verification
Create and present reports on software quality metrics Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
Software development/coding or validation experience using C , Python, Java, or CAPL strongly preferred.
Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and Simscape strongly preferred.
Experience with Controls Systems strongly preferred.
Experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as CAN, LIN
Excellent trouble-shooting and debugging skills both on the test bench and in vehicle
Experience developing software requirements or software test specifications
HIL experience
Experience with tools such as Plecs, CANalyzer, CANoe, vTESTstudio, Plexim, Polarion, and GitHub
Experience in CMMI or ASPICE
Experience with model-based software processes
Experience in functional and diagnostic testing for automotive embedded software
Experience in ISO 26262 Functional safety a plus
Experience with AUTOSAR is a plus
Pay starting at $19.25/HR or higher, based on current education level.
This is a Student Position: M-F (8 AM – 5 PM Flexible). No more than 19 hours a week. QUALIFICATIONS Education
