JOB TITLE: Special Order BOM Specialist

JOB TYPE: Non-Exempt

JOB LOCATION: Any Weather Shield Facility. Full-Time Remote Eligible.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Special Order BOM specialist is the subject matter expert (SME) that’s responsible for maintaining and advancing SPR items. This role requires problem-solving skills and high degree of collaboration with the Data Management team, engineering or other departments to support complex builds and projects. The role is essentially to maintain the BOM on SPR items so no further manual intervention is needed and the orders flow through to manufacturing with all needed information to be produced.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engage in the maintenance of all SPR items to ensure a clean build.
• Work with a cross-functional team to ensure SPR BOM’s have correct structure, components and quantities.
• Work with the plants/production teams if needed or questions come up.
• Work closely with the Data Team and Engineering to understand product specs, routings, work content and production line layouts to best support this process.
• Perform other job-related duties as necessary to fulfill responsibilities of this position.
• Aid in the creating of documentation, process or SOP’s to build out around this workflow.
• Conduct periodic reviews/audits with manufacturing to ensure they are getting all of the needed information.
• Analyze and communicate issues, resolve or bring recommendations on urgent/high impact issues to the supervisor so best approach can be discussed.

• Ability to multi-task in a faced paced environment, operate and make decisions independently and part of a collaborative team.
• Comfortable working with internal/external stakeholders at times to review and coordinate special projects or initiatives.
• Must have solid understanding of Weather Shield’s products.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of experience in or supporting manufacturing operations.Experience in window and door industry is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office Proficiency. Moderate level proficiency in Excel is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, keyboards, or keypads. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and to reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move boxes or products of 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision.
