Job Description: Operator - Manufacturing and/or Packaging

Summary:

The Operator - Manufacturing and/or Packaging is responsible for operating and maintaining manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure the production of high-quality products. This role involves adhering to safety and quality standards, troubleshooting equipment issues, and working efficiently to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation:
  • Operate manufacturing and/or packaging machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Set up machines for various production runs, including calibration and adjustment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
  • Quality Control:
  • Perform quality checks on products at various stages of production.
  • Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Document any deviations from quality standards and report to the supervisor.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Identify and report safety hazards or unsafe practices immediately.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and drills.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel for more complex repairs.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate production records and logs.
  • Complete and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Record any incidents, downtime, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Housekeeping:
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
  • Adhere to sanitation and hygiene standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating manufacturing and/or packaging machinery.
  • Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move materials up to [specified weight, e.g., 50 pounds].
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
