WEC Energy Group is Hiring an Associate Business Analyst Near Chicago, IL
Job SummaryThe Associate/Sr Business Analyst position will primarily work on developing reports for various business departments and needs. This will include working with business subject matter experts, writing SQL code, and incorporating and formatting reports.
The Business Analyst position is part of the (Associate Business Analyst, Business Analyst, Sr. Business Analyst) job family and experience will be the determining factor.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform analysis on large amounts of complex data to provide the business with fact-based insights
- Offer internal process and user/customer perspective of simplicity, efficiency, and effectiveness into design and analysis
- Support departmental reporting, metrics, budgets, dashboards, and analytics
- Make recommendations and present alternatives to address business needs or resolve impediments
- System configuration and administration
- Develop functional, process, and system documentation
- Monitor system and process performance and escalate issues as appropriate
- Influence, gather, define and document complex business requirements and processes
- Develop test plan / test cases and coordinate user acceptance testing
- Lead projects or process improvements
- Serve as subject matter expert on systems, process, and user/customer impact
- Prepare business cases and cost/benefit analysis
- Work with cross-functional teams and contacts to ensure efficient process flow across organizational lines
- Anticipate, interpret, and translate overall business/industry trends into proactive/actionable solutions
- Lead cross-functional projects of increasing importance and complexity
- Develop and champion new and innovative ways to leverage data
- Influence the documentation and prioritization of strategic initiatives and process improvements with strong consideration of the user/customer experience
- Build support for projects based on business and data analysis. Make independent recommendations for process improvements based on analysis. Build cases for action through visual presentation.
- Work with and mentor others on process or system proficiency
- Work with minimal direction and plan work independently based on the goals and objectives of the business unit.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Systems/Technology or related discipline
- The Business Analyst position requires at least 2 or 3 years relevant experience.
- Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints
- Experience working with project management methodology preferred
- Proficient in standard office software (MS Excel, Visio, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of SQL Querying experience
- 1 years of PowerBI report development
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints and experience
- working with project management methodology
- Other equivalent coding languages will be considered
