Job Summary:

The Director of S1/S2 is responsible for leading the strategic planning, design, implementation, and management of S1/S2 technicians and processes for the organization. This role involves overseeing the development of infrastructure, ensuring optimal network performance, reliability, and security, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives. The Director will play a pivotal role in driving network transformation, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the organization's Fiber Installation strategy. The S1/S2 Director will work closely with the SVP of Sales and Marketing to ensure service alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to align with business objectives and technical requirements including staffing for each county and managing the processes from start to finish.
• Support network architecture, technology standards, and infrastructure roadmap with scalable and reliable services.
• Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of S1/S2 services .
• Collaborate with network engineers, architects, and vendors to ensure network design meets performance, security, and scalability needs.
• Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of technicians to ensure optimal performance, uptime, and service delivery.
• Implement network management tools, security measures, and protocols to safeguard network integrity and data confidentiality.
• Manage projects from initiation to completion, including planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management.
• Manage all facets of the commercial / MDU drop process:
  • coordinating quotes
  • Working directly with engineering and design teams.
  • Secure any additional site permits or construction approval.
  • Ensure compliance with building access Right of Entry (ROE) agreements
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to execute projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
• Evaluate and select vendors, service providers, and technology partners to support network infrastructure projects.
• Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms with vendors to ensure quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in telecommunications security and privacy.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of professionals, including technicians, contractors, and support staff.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team to drive performance and career development.
• Communicate strategies, project updates, and network initiatives to senior management, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Able to work outside of normal business hours to include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in Fiber Installation and network design, deployment, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications technologies, protocols, network architecture, and industry best practices.
• Proven track record in project management, vendor management, team leadership, and strategic planning in a telecommunications environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive network transformation.
• Certifications in telecommunications, network security, and project management are desirable.
