Title: EC Compliance Case Manager

Reports to: EC Director

Terms of Employment: 10 Months

Salary: Pay Grade- Teacher Plus Supplement

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The EC Compliance Case Manager is responsible for the completion of paperwork and scheduling of meetings for resource teachers in addition to monitoring timelines for caseloads of approximately 100 students receiving EC services or who are in the referral process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Receive concerns regarding students with disabilities from principals, parents, students services, EC director
  • Serve as LEA Representative as needed in IEP team meetings for separate class location determinations, public separate school setting considerations, and as assigned by EC Director
  • Assist in the oversight and timely completion (90 days) of initial referrals, re-evaluations, and annual reviews for regular and resource students
  • Complete DEC paperwork for students who are served in regular or resource settings
  • Support teachers in self-contained classrooms with paperwork questions
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to collect EC data in a timely manner for IEP development
  • Work collaboratively with EC instructional program specialists, Instructional Coaches, and other district personnel as needed on compliance related issues
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor


ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs other related work as required

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or in the areas of English, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies with Special Education License in general or adapted curriculum.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years EC teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle school levels
  • Experience developing IEPs
  • Experience leading teachers
  • Proven record of improved student achievement at the school or district level
  • Detailed knowledge of the IEP process and compliance requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of Easy IEP
  • Detailed knowledge of the various areas of disabilities
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with standards based instruction, assessment, best practices, and modifications for students receiving special education services
  • Ability to plan and implement short and long range goals and objectives
  • Ability to work with collaborative teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the MTSS framework
  • Excellent interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with administrators, staff, and community members
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Some positions assigned to this class may require light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
