    HOURLY RATE RANGE: Starts at $16.50/ hour up to $29.84/hour. 8 hours a day. 179 Day Schedule

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Previous experience in law enforcement would be desirable.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience working directly with children and/or youth in an environment requiring excellent skills in problem identification and problem solving, negotiation and mediation, and behavior modification and management in a collaborative environment.
    • Restorative Justice knowledge or experience.
    • First Aid and CPR training required (may be obtained after hire)
    • Successful experience in record keeping and inventory procedures
    • Experience with safety process and procedures is preferred
    • Positive human relations and communication skills with both HS students, colleagues and parents desirable
    • Philosophy which encourages individual growth and teamwork
    • Models sportsmanlike behavior and character at all times to students, staff and parents in FLHS community
    SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY:
    • Position assists with student management and with monitoring school site (inside as well as outside at times) for threats to safety and property.
    • Assist in truancy process
    • Assist in Home Visits for students
    • Be able to represent District in truancy court proceedings
    • Willingness to attend evening events as required to help assist with safety and security
    • Supervise students and monitor the campus, including patrolling halls, monitoring students during lunch, monitoring restrooms, escorting trespassers off campus, intervening to diffuse volatile situations, and other monitoring duties as assigned.
    • Enforce school policies such as handling students who are skipping class and/or violating student handbook policies and procedures.
    • Maintain order in the campus parking lot, which can include monitoring students driving on campus, assisting students and staff with car problems, monitoring for appropriate parking permits, etc.
    • Work with school resource officers, as needed, to enforce laws including situations involving drugs, fights, theft, vehicle accidents, etc.
    • Assist office staff with delivery of notices to students and/or retrieving students from class for administrators.
    • Supervision of detention during lunches and before and after school as necessary
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATION: All positions open until filled.
    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • Start date for the assignment is August 2024
    • 9-month position with 8 hours a day following the 179 calendar. Paid monthly with 12 equal payments.
    • All contracts/agreements for employment of personnel shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Education.
    • No smoking is allowed in any Weld County School District Re 8 buildings.
    • Selected applicant must comply with the District's Drug-Free Workplace policy.
    • As required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), the selected applicant must verify, within 72 hours of employment, his/her legal right to be employed in the United States
