District Instructional Specialist/ Gifted & Talented (G/T) Coordinator Terms of EmploymentFull-time, 195 days (Depending on start date). Salary is based on education and experience and will be prorated per the Certified Salary Schedule not to exceed letter I ($52,139-$83,183). The District provides its employees with a comprehensive benefits program including medical, life, and dental insurance. Position PurposeUnder the general supervision of the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, the District Instructional Specialist/Gifted & Talented (G/T) Coordinator role provides targeted support to elevate teaching practice and support student success by leading the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of Gifted & Talented programing. As a data-driven leader with a deep understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment for Gifted & Talented students, the District Instructional Specialist/Gifted & Talented (G/T) Coordinator collaborates with educators, special service providers, administrators, and families to ensure students receive the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports they need to thrive. Essential Performance Responsibilities
Collaborate with school administrators, community organizations, and state agencies to support G/T education programming to meet diverse student needs
Support planning and integration of new developments, research findings, and best practices into G/T initiatives
Provide teachers and other stakeholders coaching, training, modeling, and sustained professional development with a focus on meeting the needs of gifted and talented students
Serve as a resource for teachers regarding differentiation and ALP implementation
Facilitate collaboration and professional growth with building teams and district departments
Establish and maintain communication with parents/guardians
Develop budget and complete state reports for G/T program
Design and implement individual and/or group learning opportunities for G/T students across the district
Support use of instructional frameworks to improve student learning outcomes
Work with administrators, instructional teams and individual teachers to gather and analyze relevant data on an ongoing basis to identify learning needs of students and staff
Support administrators and teachers in analyzing building, district, and state assessment data and making data-informed instructional decisions based on summative and formative data
Participate in district team meetings for professional growth to support and align implementation of district goals
Increase the district’s capacity to effectively use educational/instructional technology and essential skills by facilitating teaching and learning enhanced by digital resources
Participate in professional growth opportunities for continuous improvement
Support implementation of approved district curriculum and assessment measures

Staff members shall handle all employee, student, and district records in accordance with applicable district policies.

Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Qualifications ProfileCertification/License:
Current Colorado Teaching license
Gifted Education endorsement or willingness to obtain
Colorado READ Act endorsement must be obtained by Aug 1
Education
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Advanced Degree or the equivalent preferred
Experience
Experience in school leadership or instructional coaching positions such as School Leadership Teams, Team Facilitators, Mentors, etc. over the past 3 years preferred
