Job DescriptionAs a warehouse manager for an ecommerce business, your role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse, which serves as the central hub for receiving, storing, and shipping products to customers. Here's a detailed description of your responsibilities:
Well Traveled Living is a designer, importer and distributor of outdoor living products. Established in 1998, we were the major force in popularizing clay chimineas in the United States. From there the company expanded its reach by developing a full range of innovative outdoor heating, patio and home and garden products. Today, as a leading innovator in these product categories, we market our products under the Fire Sense, Balkene Home, Prime Pellet Grills, Huntley Equestrian and Huntley Pet brand names.
- Inventory Management: You'll oversee all aspects of inventory management, including receiving shipments, tracking inventory levels, conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy, and implementing systems to minimize stock discrepancies.
- Storage Optimization: Your task involves organizing the warehouse layout to maximize storage space and facilitate easy access to products. This includes determining the most efficient shelving and storage systems and implementing proper labeling and categorization protocols.
- Order Fulfillment: You'll be responsible for fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently. This involves picking items from inventory, packing them securely for shipment, and coordinating with shipping carriers to ensure timely delivery.
- Quality Control: Maintaining high standards of product quality is crucial for customer satisfaction. You'll establish and enforce quality control procedures to inspect incoming and outgoing products, identify any defects or damages, and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Team Management: You'll lead a team of warehouse staff, including pickers, packers, and possibly forklift operators. Your responsibilities include hiring and training new employees, assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and providing ongoing support and supervision to ensure productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring a safe working environment is paramount. You'll enforce safety regulations, conduct regular safety inspections, provide training on safe handling practices and equipment operation, and address any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
- Technology Integration: Implementing and leveraging warehouse management software and other technological solutions is essential for streamlining operations and improving efficiency. You'll oversee the implementation and integration of such systems, as well as train staff to use them effectively.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: You'll track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and labor productivity. Regularly analyzing these metrics will help you identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions to optimize warehouse operations.
