We’ve built a firm with approximately $2 billion in assets, based on a long-term investment strategy focusing on principal protection and downside risk mitigation.

This Role

Our company is growing and looking to hire an experienced Director of Operations with outstanding people and problem-solving skills to ensure our personnel programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives.

The exceptional candidate will improve our flow of processes, review, analyze, and evaluate business procedures, implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations and support business growth, improve morale and employee retention through enhanced employee engagement, strengthen relations between staff and management, attract the best recruits, and promote the Company's growth.

Essential Role Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of the Company’s client facing teams.
• Provide guidance to managers regarding employee development, discipline, coaching, and counseling.
• Collaborate with management to track employee workloads, production and establish staffing models.
• Lead implementation of the performance management process, including employee development programs.
• Work with managers to establish semi-annual goals that support the company strategy and are consistent with their role.
• Work on initiatives to improve and advance the Company’s growth and operational efficiency.
• Recruiting, staffing, and professional development:
• Lead process to recruit, hire, and retain a superior workforce.
• Manage the hiring and onboarding process for new employees.
• Company culture and team engagement:
• Communicate with employees regularly to establish rapport and gauge morale.
• Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote employee morale and motivation.
• Compensation and benefits administration:
• Administer all employee benefit programs and serve as liaison between employees and outside benefit providers.
• Provide constant oversight of human capital management system to ensure all processes are running correctly.

Ideal Candidate

A person primed for success in this roll will be excited about operating in an autonomous and entrepreneurial environment, but also be a successful team player when helping to build the business:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• Minimum seven years’ experience in a management role.
• Experience with a Register Investment Advisor and/or Asset Management Firm required.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity.
• Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Skills in recruiting, selecting and talent management.
• Ability to work daily as required in our Portsmouth, NH office location.
