Job DescriptionIn this role you will serve as a resource for a broad array of regulatory requirements and compliance matters impacting our Operations division. You will analyze, interpret, present, and communicate new and revised laws and provide regulatory guidance that affects Operations. You will coordinate the timely resolution of compliance and audit issues within Operations including the coordination and maintenance of WellSox narratives and tracking of process control metrics. Provide guidance and direction to the business areas within Operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory, compliance and other matters. Coordinate cross-functional process improvement initiatives, and support and/or lead business continuity functions and initiatives as needed.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field or direct and applicable work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Compliance, and/or Operations
  • Ability to balance industry expertise with strong understanding of the customer, as well as strategic business initiatives, including Making HealthCare Better
  • Ability to proactively develop and use collaborative relationships by listening, understanding, anticipating, and providing solutions to facilitate the accomplishment of goals to meet customer expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Ability to recognize inconsistencies, research and reach conclusions based on a multitude of factors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including but not limited to, developing written communication, and presenting to various internal and external audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, or Outlook
Additional Information
  • Identify, monitor, and resolve compliance and audit issues timely, examples include but are not limited to: Internal/External audits, Record Retention practices, WellSox tasks and updates review and respond to Regulatory Compliance action items.
  • Perform in the role of liaison and coordinator between Operations and the Legal, Compliance, Audit, Wellmark Technology, and other stakeholders involved in corporate and department project initiatives.
  • Participate in and support the completion of key corporate initiatives on projects being led by other Wellmark divisions.
  • Ensure audit findings/compliance issues/project information updates are reported to Leadership timely to support sustained or improved Member Touchpoint Measures MTM and InterPlan Program (IPP) performance scorecard results distributed by Blue Cross Blue Shield Association BCBSA and facilitate collaboration to achieve key corporate initiatives, achieve operational excellence and enhance the customer experience.
  • Work with division leadership to develop and monitor operations and enterprise compliance plans.
  • Create and maintain compliance program policies that apply across the business units in Operations.
  • Support all processes and functions of Business Continuity for Operations in Iowa and South Dakota including plan updates to the operations business continuity plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.
