Wellness and Equity Alliance is Hiring an Operations Manager Near Albuquerque, NM

DescriptionWellness Equity Alliance (WEA) is a novel national public health organization comprised of a multidisciplinary team of population and public health experts with backgrounds in infectious disease, public health, emergency medicine, primary care, cardiology, pediatrics, psychiatry, community health work (CHW), nursing and advanced practice pharmacy. We work nearly exclusively with underrepresented communities, fundamentally addressing health-care disparities and the social determinants of health (SDoH) that have been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizing the following:
  • People experiencing homelessness
  • Indigenous communities
  • Immigrant communities
  • Rural communities
  • BIPoC communities
  • LGBTQIA communities
  • Justice-impacted communities

WEA is actively seeking compassionate and driven individuals for several pivotal roles in our groundbreaking School-Based Health Center (SBHC) program for Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Our approach will focus on health promotion, prevention, and treatment centered on behavioral health and primary care (including sexual health and gender-affirming care) located in large mobile units (including a brick-and-mortar clinic) in schools across the county. Purpose of the positionWEA is actively seeking compassionate and driven professionals for several pivotal roles in our innovative Mobile School Health Center program in Bernalillo County. This initiative is designed to deliver comprehensive healthcare services directly to middle and elementary schools, ensuring every student can access high-quality care, regardless of their circumstances.
The Mobile School Health Center represents a transformative approach to healthcare, bringing primary care, behavioral health support, preventive services, and more directly to students within their school environments. The Regional Operations Manager will help assist in the daily functioning of the mobile units and clinical site. Operations Manager will be an important patient-facing role and will be continuously growing and changing, so being able to move fast and efficiently is needed. Operations will work closely with clinical team, outreach team as well as external stakeholders to maintain cohesive and efficient operations and success.
Operations Management And Coordination
  • Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the mobile units and clinical site.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient operations of healthcare delivery in school environments.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues promptly to minimize disruption
  • Coordinate operations and logistics between internal and external teams to align with contract deliverables and leadership goals
Program Evaluation And Performance Improvement
  • Evaluate program performance through key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Monitor opportunities for program improvement
  • Manage monthly and quarterly report requests from local, state, and federal entities
Patient And Care Team Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students, families, and school staff.
  • Ensure a positive and supportive experience for all patients interacting with the health units by utilizing coaching, motivational interviewing, and evidence-based techniques to support patients in achieving their goals
  • Provide compassionate and responsive service to meet the needs of students and their families.
  • Utilize technology and digital resources to monitor ongoing care activities
  • Identify and address barriers to achieving targeted clinical or social outcomes
  • Assist participants in accessing health-related services and scheduling follow-up appointments
Operational Efficiency
  • Complete and submit monthly reports documenting activities and outcomes achieved
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of mobile health services.
  • Monitor and analyze operational metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that the mobile units are well-equipped, staffed, and maintained for optimal performance.
  • Manage the allocation of resources, including staff, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure that resources are used effectively to maximize the program's impact.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to operational activities.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the clinical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
  • Coordinate with the outreach team to promote the program and engage with the community effectively.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including school administrators and healthcare partners, to maintain strong collaborative relationships.
Administrative And Technical Support
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations and maintain site cleanliness
  • Provide onsite troubleshooting and solutions as needed
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Business Suite Programs
  • Assist with proposal knowledge management and content retention for future use
Leadership And Guidance
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the program and the communities served.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and best practices.
  • Lead efforts to expand and enhance the program's services as needed.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to provide guidance and leadership updates
  • Supervise team members and contribute to their professional development
  • Support organizational goals through effective coordination and leadership
  • Provide training and support to staff to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality care.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
  • Identify and address training needs to improve staff performance and satisfaction.
RequirementsQualifications and Education Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of medical regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of medical professionals
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Spanish Speaking (preferred not required)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Google Suite Experience
  • Directly related experience with operations or logistics
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Reliable transportation

  • Military experience
  • Demonstrated history of strong interpersonal skills and ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local and regional community resources.
