About This RoleWells Fargo is seeking a Senior Manager for theFutures Commission Merchant (FCM) business group with Wells Fargo's Wholesale Operations division to lead the FCM Operations team and have accountability across all FCM Operations functions including Trade Management, Reconciliations, physical deliveries, Cash/Collateral Management, Brokerage, Client Services, and Fee & Commissions team supporting both futures and cleared swaps products. This vital role will ensure the sound management and supervision of all Wells Fargo's affiliate and customer futures and cleared swaps activities. In This Role, You Will
  • Exchange/clearing house, PPS bank, clearing broker, and regulatory relationships where necessary
  • Internal stakeholder management within the FCM business, senior operations leadership, and other support partners (including but not limited to Sales, Trading, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Operations Risk, Treasury, Technology, Regulatory Reporting, Counterparty Credit and Market Risk), external vendors, and various other partners internal and external
  • Strategic business initiatives, process/platform improvements, and efficiency improvements in a manner consistent with Firm protocols, industry regulations, and customer requirements
  • Risk management across the FCM Operations environment and compliance with new and emerging regulatory mandates where there is an operational impact
  • Human capital, including the selection process, performance management and evaluation and Team Member development and retention
  • Consistently demonstrate core values and ensure that they are reinforced throughout the department
  • Provide subject matter expertise on industry best practices and protocols to comply with all CFTC regulations
  • Identify and drive strategic process and system changes for the FCM Operations group to ensure increased control, risk remediation, scalability, and overall operational efficiencies
  • Drive solutions for new businesses and processes as the GETS business continues to expand into new markets
  • Represent Wells Fargo in industry led initiatives and implement changes in the industry supported by Wells Fargo
  • Ensure appropriate operations, accounting and regulatory procedures and processes are documented and adhered to
  • Provide sponsorship, leadership and direction for new projects
  • Understand all aspects of FCM-wide operations and ensure suitable checks and balances and controls are in place
  • Provide leadership and oversight for internal and external audits as they relate to Operations
  • Manage relationships with external financial service providers, including settlement banks, clearing brokers, other FCMs, member exchanges, etc.
  • Foster strong relationships with other business and support partners
Required Qualifications:
  • 6 years of Capital Markets industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3 years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with existing CFTC, and related industry rules, regulations, and initiatives (e.g. CFTC rules/regulation, Dodd Frank, EMIR Delegated reporting, CASS customer money, etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of customer protection rules (CFTC 1.2, 30.7 and LSOC/Customer Cleared Swaps...
  • Experience in leading large teams and building a sustainable, diverse and inclusive work environment with a focus on team member growth and development
  • Experience in both futures and cleared OTC products
  • Experience in presenting and preparing proposals to recommend new processes/services that optimize processes, funding efficiencies, capacity opportunities, and financial forecasting.
  • Knowledge of FCM system of records and cash/collateral management applications
  • Advanced analytical, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Job Expectation:
  • Series 7/99 licenses are a requirement of the role or the ability to complete requirements within 180 days of hire date
