About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Enterprise Risk Officer which will be part of the Home Lending Valuations Risk team. This role would ensure the CRO team has effective oversight of the Condo/Coop Project Review processes used by the Home Lending and Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS).
The Lead Enterprise Risk Officer is responsible for providing risk oversight of Home Lending and Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS), with a focus on the appraisal/valuation process and how it impacts Home Lending across the life of a loan. This HLVR professional will partner with Home Lending and REVS leadership, serving as key risk advisor for all risk types, including credit risk. They will also review emerging appraisal industry risks, identifying how they could impact Wells Fargo.
In this role, you will:
  • Oversee key front-line processes including Condo/Coop Project Review, utilizing knowledge of risk programs, regulatory requirements, and process and control design.
  • Partner closely with the line of business to support business strategy, key initiatives, and process changes.
  • Partner across IRM risk types (Market, Operational, Compliance, Model) and with Legal to ensure all risks to front line activities are properly assessed
  • Create and monitor oversight reporting and metrics
  • Review and challenge of front-line issue remediation and change management
  • Integrate into key strategic initiatives
  • Analyze data and trends to identify emerging risks
  • Ensure that appropriate escalation and communication is provided to IRM senior management
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years of Risk Management experience (Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management) or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • A strong knowledge of Home Lending, Real Estate Valuations Services (REVS), and how appraisals are used in lending activities (Originations, Servicing and/or portfolio management).
  • Demonstrates a combination of business and credit risk acumen, attention to details, attention to deadlines
  • Ability to interface actively and credibly with various business and independent risk partners
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information, prioritize actions, and drive results
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in SAS and SQL
  • Exceptional problem solving, root cause analysis and analytical skills with proven ability to turn findings into executable plans
  • Ability to influence
  • Flexibility to manage through multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to use metrics and data to make decisions that drive results.
  • Strong ability to identify potential industry challenges and opportunities in order to proactively assess and manage risk
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
